Position Summary

Under the supervision of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Technician will be responsible for performing administrative tasks within the organization. The candidate must demonstrate dynamism, autonomy and analytical skills to ensure the smooth running of this position.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform payroll-related tasks;
  • Enroll new jobs in the payroll system;
  • Enroll employees for group insurance and RRSPs;
  • Update leave and absence schedules;
  • Manage the internal recruitment process;
  • Participate in the induction and integration of new employees;
  • Participate in the development of HR projects within the organization (e.g. Intranet, small activities – Valentine’s Day/Halloween/…);
  • Monitor CNESST* files;
  • Process RRSP and DPSP contributions;
  • Perform year-end tasks related to the 1% law;
  • Participate in Christmas and OHS committees;
  • Carry out annual salary changes for employees;
  • Change group insurance premiums;
  • Assist employees by answering their questions;
  • Make corrections, if necessary, related to payroll processing;
  • Assist the leasing department with e-mail requests.

Skills Profile and Required Qualifications

Training / Experience / Certification

  • 1 to 2 years of experience as a human resources technician or in a related field;
  • DEC in human resources or certification in human resources.

Skills and Aptitudes Required

  • Knowledge of Desjardins payroll system;
  • Computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
  • Knowledge of applicable labor laws.
