Job description

We are looking for a real estate project manager to play a key role in planning and coordinating renovation work in the buildings under their responsibility.

Main Responsibilities

Your contribution

  • Participate in the analysis and evaluation of necessary projects in the buildings under your responsibility and annual budgets;
  • Plan and establish the scope of work, budget, and schedule;
  • Draft specifications for professional and contractor bids;
  • Supervise and monitor the preparation of plans and specifications;
  • Search for potential suppliers and contractors, evaluate proposed concepts, negotiate and award contracts;
  • In collaboration with the teams in place at our properties, define, plan, and coordinate projects, taking into account the impact on daily operations;
  • Ensure the quality of work performed by professionals and contractors and coordinate meetings;
  • Monitor project progress to ensure completion within the agreed-upon timeframe;
  • Administer construction contracts according to the agreed payment terms and the type of contract used;
  • Control project costs to stay within the established budget;
  • Resolve issues encountered during project implementation;
  • Provide added value to tenants by assisting them in the planning and execution of projects;
  • Regularly update stakeholders on project status;
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and laws, including the Building Code;
  • Supervise projects carried out by tenants;
  • Act as a technical advisor to operations teams on technical issues where your expertise will be put to good use.

Skills Profile and Required Qualifications

Your professional skills

  • Training in architectural technology, architecture, or engineering, or any other university studies relevant to the position;
  • College diploma (DEC) in architectural technology, building mechanics, construction, or real estate project management combined with relevant experience, or university degree;
  • Certification in project management, e.g., PMP (an asset);
  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience in construction project management and commercial real estate asset maintenance;
  • Knowledge of the commercial real estate industry (asset maintenance, operations, and leasing) and the interrelationship between departments;
  • Knowledge of rules, policies, procedures, laws, and standards in the construction industry;
  • Fluency in French and English;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office;
  • Ability to read blueprints;
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Project;
  • Understanding of mechanical and electrical building systems.
