Position Summary

Reporting to the VP of Technical Services, the Project Manager is responsible for the technical and construction aspects of the buildings under his/her responsibility and plans and supervises the complete execution of construction projects. This includes administering contracts awarded to professionals and contractors and coordinating all activities to ensure that costs, schedules and project requirements are met.

Main responsibilities

The Project Manager is responsible for performing the following duties:

  • Analyze and evaluate construction work to be performed on buildings;
  • Plan and determine resource and budget requirements, cost estimates and schedules;
  • Prepare specifications for bidding purposes;
  • Research potential suppliers and contractors, evaluate proposed designs and negotiate pricing;
  • Ensure the quality of the work of professionals and contractors;
  • Monitor the completion of projects against the established schedule and ensure timely completion within the required time frame;
  • Monitor project costs;
  • Resolve problems;
  • Administer contracts for construction projects according to payment terms;
  • Provide added value to tenants and owners by assisting them in the planning and execution of projects;
  • Ensure customer satisfaction;
  • Notify appropriate stakeholders of project status;
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and laws including the Building Code;
  • All other related duties and responsibilities.

Skill Profile and Qualification Required

Education / Experience / Certification

  • DEC, preferably in architectural technology, building mechanics, construction or a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or architecture
  • 5 years of professional experience in a position with similar responsibilities;


  • Familiar with rules, policies, procedures, laws and standards in the field of construction.

Skills and abilities required

  • Fluency in French (spoken and written), functional English
  • Proficient in the Office 365 suite
  • Ability to read drawings
  • Knowledge of Autocad and MS Project an asset
  • Minimum understanding of building mechanical and electrical systems
