Position Summary

We are looking for a Property Project Manager to play a key role in planning and coordinating renovation work in the buildings under his/her responsibility.

Galion’s portfolio consists of some twenty office and light industrial buildings, a convenience shopping center and 43 service stations with retail space. Main Responsibilities

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

  • Participate in the analysis and evaluation of projects required in the buildings under your responsibility, as well as in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Plan and define work scope, budget and schedule.
  • Draw up tender specifications for professionals and contractors.
  • Supervise and control the preparation of plans and specifications.
  • Search for potential suppliers and contractors, evaluate proposed concepts, negotiate and award contracts.
  • In collaboration with the teams in place at our properties, define, plan and coordinate projects, taking into account the impact on day-to-day operations.
  • Ensure the quality of work carried out by professionals and contractors, and coordinate meetings.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Administer construction contracts according to agreed payment terms and type of contract used.
  • Control project costs to stay within budget.
  • Solve problems encountered during project implementation.
  • Offer added value to tenants by supporting them in the planning and execution of their projects.
  • Keep stakeholders regularly informed of project progress.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes and laws, including the Building Code.
  • Supervise tenant projects.
  • Act as a technical advisor to operations teams on issues where your expertise is required.

Skills Profile and Required Qualifications

YOUR PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • College diploma (DEC) in architectural technology, building mechanics, construction or real estate project management, combined with relevant experience, or university degree.
  • Certification in project management (e.g. PMP), an asset.
  • Minimum 5 to 7 years’ experience in construction project management and asset maintenance in the commercial real estate sector.
  • Mastery of applicable construction rules, policies, procedures, laws and standards.
  • Fluency in French; knowledge of English is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Project.
  • Good understanding of building mechanical and electrical systems.
